Multifaceted avant garde heavy rock unit Dead Cross, which features Dave Lombardo (Suicidal Tendencies, Grip INC., ex-Slayer) and Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Peeping Tom) in their ranks, have dropped a new Official Video. The clip is for the track ‘Seizure And Desist‘ which hails from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut due from  Ipecac Recordings on August 4th. As far as I’m concerned, It sums up the current social and political climate of today. For a lot of humanity, this world is a mean motherfucking place. The video captures the severity of the times we live in, as well as a means to communicate beyond basic language using iconic imagery, campy techniques, historical relevance, as well as a glimpse into the future.”

RAW IN SECT Debut ‘Therion’ Official Video From Upcoming ‘Kitro’ Album

Incredibly unique Grecian rockers Raw In Sect have premiered a brand new Official Video for their track ‘Therion‘. The song comes off the band’s upcoming third album ‘Kitro‘, set to be out this September. The video can be viewed below while the band shares the following about the song itself: “The video is meant to reflect the transformation into Therion, which is to “find inner power in a primitive way getting in touch with your instincts.

Continuing to share about their blending of traditional Greek music with rock and roll, Raw In Sect‘s members add: “[We seek toredefine what aggressive/rock music is through a totally different approach than the one that has been known in the music scene.”

Really though, it’s about doing something new and artistic instead of repeating the same old patterns of established bands in hopes of securing a career in a declining music industry. Changing the language of the lyrics in Greek, recording live, and not setting on the sound of previous records that was somewhat accepted, are among the risks we took willingly in order to express something new and reach wider audiences.

Kostas Diamandis – Lead Vocals, Guitar
Dimitris Alexiou – Drums, Backing Vocals

Serbian Gothic Doomers THE FATHER OF SERPENTS To Release New Album; Video Premiere

Serbian gothic doom/atmospheric death metallers The Father Of Serpents are set to release their new full-length album Age Of Damnation in a few days. Inspired by the likes of Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Moonspell and more, the sextet have a very textured, organically appealing heaviness. You can hear, and visualize it, for yourself via their new music video for “Viral”.

“’Viral’ was the last song we did before recording the album in the studio, just a few days before,” The Father Of Serpents comment. “It was almost done in 15 minutes and it went pretty natural and straightforward. We didn’t have the time to overthought or analyze the song, so the energy of the moment when we were jamming the song is there. It is both groovy, catchy and dark.”

Age Of Damnation will be released on June 19 through Satanath Records and United By Chaos. Pre-order it here.

LETHAL AFFECTION Debuts ‘Frozen In Time’ Official Video

The New Jersey melodic metal collective Lethal Affection have issued their brand new Official Video for the song ‘Frozen In Time‘. The single appears on the band’s upcoming full-length album “Choose A Side” due out this fall. “Choose A Side” was recorded at Conclave Studios in Manhattan, produced by Corey Pierce of God Forbid, and mixed by Christopher “Zeuss” Harris.

The band was founded five years ago in New Brunswick, N.J. by guitarists Joe Percario and Nick Kashmanian who were then joined by lead vocalist Noah Simon. Soon, the missing piece was added when drummer Cameron Rozell came on board and this high-energy metal outfit was set into motion. Structured with shredding guitar, heavy grooves, and operatic vocals, Lethal Affection have created a powerfully appealing body of work. This new video clip, as well as its Lyric Video predecessor, ‘Taste Of Anarchy‘ (streaming below) do well in establishing the band’s fierce technicality.

VALLENFYRE Issues ‘The Merciless Tide’ Official Video

The crushing, deathly doom band Vallenfyre, which features members of Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride members, has unleashed a new official video. The clip is for the track ‘The Merciless Tide‘ from the band’s just-released third album, “Fear Those Who Fear Him”, which came out on June 2nd from Century Media Records. The band Vallenfyre is the brainchild of Paradise Lost guitarist Gregor Mackintosh who is joined by guitarist/bassist Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride) and drummer Waltteri Väyrynen.

Mackintosh spoke about the new song and video saying:”‘The Merciless Tide‘ is about the relentless march of time and also wishing you could be in someone else’s shoes to save them suffering. In the video, we see a man going through immense suffering over a long period of time, never being able to grasp the things he craves, whilst faceless tormentors observe in indifference. This is incredibly grim, so enjoy.”

Fear Those Who Fear Him‘ was once again produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails) at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, YOB, Beastmilk) at Audiosiege Mastering in Portland, Oregon. The cover artwork was created by Hal Rotter.

“Fear Those Who Fear Him” was released as gatefold LP+CD on limited colored and regular black 180-gram vinyl, as special edition digipak (international version), jewelcase CD (Canada, USA, Mexico only) and on all digital/streaming platforms.

So much of our career as a band has been following our instincts and running headlong into the unknown with no regard for how insane a tour/show/song idea might be. I feel like that passion & willingness to take a risk has gotten us very far. Naturally, though, you’re walking a tightrope. Same goes for your personal life with romance or substances, etc. Passion and heart will take you everywhere but where’s the line? I was trying to investigate that feeling.

KRYPTONITE (King Diamond, Mustasch, Eclipse, Etc. Members) Reveal Debut’s Details; Video Premiere

I recently shared a blurb on the Taste Nation LLC Facebook timeline about with an introduction to the new Swedish band Kryptonite. Today I am happy to bring you all a full article with more details about the band, their upcoming debut album and an Official Video premiere from said album as well. The video is for a track titled ‘Chasing Fire‘ which hails from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut due on August 4th from Frontiers Music SRL.

Kryptonite itself is a special project that began when The Poodles’ Jakob Samuel and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio decided to pursue putting together a band after working on another project. Soon they had brought in former The Poodles bassist Pontus Egberg (now in King Diamond and Treat) who was then followed by Robban Back of Mustasch (ex-Eclipse). The final piece of a guitarist soon fell to Mike Palace of the band Palace, a younger and extremely talented, impressive player.

The band Kryptonite play a more melodic style of rock music, not far removed from what many might call AOR Music. Of course that means it is more radio-friendly content and when it comes to exposure or increasing ones’ fanbase then there is nothing wrong with that. Check out Kryptonite for yourself via the clip for ‘Chasing Fire‘ below.

TWELVE NOON ‘Saints And Sinners’ Review; Official Video

TWELVE NOON
Saints And Sinners – CD//DD
Eclipse Records – Release Date: June 9th, 2017
Reviewed By: Pat ‘Riot’ Whitaker

From Steel City, USA comes one of the more invigorating albums I have been privy to streaming via a promo recently. The band is freshly formed one in some sense of the word, a quintet amassed not that long ago in 2015 by members Rob Heil (gtrst.) and Michael Loew (vox). Twelve Noon rounded out their roster with guitarist John Devlin, bassist Tim Clark and drummer Justin Runkel and believe it or not, began as a cover band. Feeling the fire burning to write and create their own original music after a song or two placed in their covers sets got tremendous receptions, that is exactly what they did. Soon, the band caught the attention and ears of producer Bobby Balow and fast forward to now, they sit poised to unleash ‘Saints And Sinners‘ via Eclipse Records on June 9th.

On said album, Twelve Noon truly wear a variety of musical hats so to speak, meaning they cover a lot of territory in their music. Blending elements of razor sharp heavy metal with those of hard rock, nu metal, alt. rock and even some melodic, more contemporary moments, the guys meld it all into this powerful recorded statement. It’s like a rollercoaster running at top speed, it hits twists, turns and curves with seemingly reckless abandon but truth is, there’s a method to the madness. A course laid out, a path being traveled and it is most definitely a ride you should get your ass on and buckle in to.

Things tear right off the line with the groove-laden stomp of ‘Change My Ways‘, a chunky, heavy riffer that chugs forward with pure determination. Aggressive music and vocals drive things onward and then abruptly relent to some incredible choruses laden with infectious melody. At one point things go unhinged with some scathing vocal deliveries while the music itself remains a bit laid back with a bluesy swagger. With the bar set, things quickly detour into the unexpected, solid, emotionally poignant ‘Breaking Down‘. Everything is dialed back on this track, keeping it all tight-knit while the drumming especially stood out to me on this one. The amps are cranked up and the attitude set loose on the album’s title track, ‘Saints And Sinners‘, next. A mid tempo pace pushes the song on with some pure rock fueling, catchy hooks and choruses, an infectious and addictive track for sure.

In fact, those very same qualities permeate all of the ten songs here and regardless if you’re a metalhead or a mainstream rock fan, there’s something for you to enjoy here. From the ballad-esque ‘Hope In Tragedy‘ to the acoustic-tinged southern rock of ‘Carry On‘, the song that Guns & Roses never wrote but should have, it’s all here. Maybe the darkly-hued aggro-styling of ‘No Way Out‘ (video streaming below) or the even darker tainted ‘Bottom Of A Bottle‘ is what you need. Then there’s always the album-closing ass kick that is the apprpriately titled ‘The End‘, a track that is quickly becoming my own personal favorite. Not to mention the nice double bass drum kicks rippling throughout the cut at times or the simmering guitar leads/solos.

Yep, Saints And Sinners is a nice breath of freshly metalized modern hard rock, one that I hear varied influences contained within. Moments of 80’s rock to the nu movement of the Nineties or the alternative constructs of more recent years, you hear it all at times. After all, isn’t time what this band and their official label debut here are all about? So, you know what time it is..or you’d better because, if not, then make the time Twelve Noon all the time by checking this superb album out as soon as possible.
